Brad was selected after a nationwide search to launch the men’s volleyball program at VU in Spring of 2019. Coach Rostratter will guide the Vanguard Lions as they compete in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC), one of the toughest slates in the country. The GSAC currently features one team inside the top 10, as well as Ottawa University, Arizona who won the NCCAA National Championship during their first year as a program.
Prior to Vanguard:
While at Pepperdine, Rostratter served as assistant coach under Head Coach David Hunt. Before he served under Coach Hunt, Rostratter was able to learn and glean wisdom from legendary Waves coach Marv Dunphy, a member of the USA Volleyball Hall of Fame and former USA Men's Volleyball Olympic Head Coach.
Prior to that he served as the Director of Volleyball Operations at Arizona State University under the direction of Head Coach Stevie Mussie. In his first year as a graduate assistant at CUI the next year, got the Eagles back to the national Championship. While still a college athlete himself, he also began coaching for one of the top club teams in the United States with Travis Turner at Balboa Bay Volleyball Club.
Playing Career:
Rostratter is no stranger to the NAIA or launching new programs, as he was on the inaugural men's volleyball team for Concordia University, Irvine (CUI). As a player, he won the 2013 NAIA National Championship. After playing at Woodcreek High School, Rostratter went on to Orange Coast College and then CUI.
Personal:
Brad is single and resides in Costa Mesa. He earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University – Irvine.
