The athlete: Randy is a diligent and hard working athlete…possesses great leadership qualities…will play dual role on the team as an athlete and strength and conditioning coach…he had a great season last year in his debut season as a javelin thrower…established a new school record for the men’s javelin event and improved it twice more…will concentrate on improving on his best throw of 153 feet and 1 inch.

The person: Randal was born in Cheboygan, Michigan on June 20, 1975 to his parents Ronald and Marilyn Smith… call him Randy for short…likes to eat pizza…enjoys snowboarding…favorite book is “Foster’s Prayer”…likes the movie “The Matrix”…has learned from life to put trust in God and He will give you hope…wants to eventually become a youth pastor.

His thoughts: I selected VU because of the weather.  I really enjoy the close-knit community at Vanguard.
