Biography
The athlete: Carl joins the track team after taking the last two years off…he is a junior academically and a freshman athletically…competed at Las Plumas High School…graduated in 2002…was his high school team captain in 2001 and 2002…also competed in football and wrestling…a big strong athlete with a good work ethic…will compete in the 110 high hurdles and the 400 intermediate hurdles…very good addition to the program…look for Carl have a solid freshman year for the Lions.
The person: Carl Andrew Murdock was born on December 1, 1983 in Sacramento, California…proud son of Carl and Shelley Murdock…is pursuing a degree in History and Political Science…enjoys eating Pizza…Loves the movie “Star Wars” and TV show “Alias”…roots for the St. Louis Freds…hobbies include video games, reading, and hanging out with his friends…would love to meet George W. Bush…feels the team chemistry is a positive for this year’s team…has learned in life that it’s too short…sports has taught him if you don’t succeed try again…wants to become a committed civil servant.
His thoughts: I chose Vanguard because it’s a solid institution where the Christian atmosphere is very comforting.
Coach Bryan’s Comments: Carl will carry the load in the hurdle events this season and will also see action in the sprints and relays. We’re excited to have Carl in the program.
