LONG BEACH, Calif. -- The Pacific West Conference released the 2025-26 Bob Hogue Commissioner's Cup final standings today, and the Vanguard Lions placed eighth out of the 13 schools in the PacWest with 102 points and an average of 7.85. It is an improvement for VU, which placed ninth last year with 92.5 points out of the 14 schools. The 2026 winner was Point Loma, who claimed 143 total points, with Fresno Pacific (124.5) second and Azusa Pacific (133.5) third, with a 10.38 average score for FPU putting the Sunbirds ahead of the Cougars, who had a 10.27 average. VU placed ahead of Dominican and behind Westmont. Women's basketball snared the most points for the Blue and Gold (15) with their title, with both women's cross country (12, third) and men's soccer (13, second) also clearing double digits for their results.
The Commissioner's Cup awards points based on finishes in conference-sponsored sports, with a weighted system per sport. In 2023-24, Bob Hogue's name was added to the marquee award after serving as the conference commissioner for 16 years.
