Another Full Sweep for Women's XC

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- For the second time in 2025, Vanguard women's cross country has swept the weekly awards in the Pacific West Conference.  The lineup was named the Team of the Week after finishing second at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, setting a 6K school record time in the process of 1:51:11.  Lauren Pahl got the nod as the Runner of the Week after finishing third with a time of 21:37.9.

The Lions beat out three PacWest schools (APU, Westmont, and HPU) as a team on Saturday.  Pahl was only one second behind Vivian Martinez of Cal Poly Pomona, who finished second, and five seconds back of Suzie Johnson of TMU in first.  The freshman was one of three Lions to finish in the top 30 out of the over 200 runners in Pomona.  This is the seventh top-10 finish for a VU runner this season and the first podium finish for an individual.  The squad has the UCR Highlander event in two Saturdays as its final tune-up before the conference Championships in Hawaii.
