YORBA LINDA, Calif. – The Vanguard Lions took the course for one final round in preparation for the upcoming GSAC Championship, facing off against Hope International University at Black Gold Golf Course. The men's team earned a one stroke victory over the Royals, 315-316, their tightest margin of victory on the year. From the championship tees, Black Gold Golf Club is a par 72 layout playing up to 6,756 yards with a a rating of 73.1 and a slope of 136.
Over on the women's side, three individuals for the Blue and Gold hit the links highlighted by Malia Kiger (FR/Hermosa Beach, CA) who had the lowest score of the day and Belle Morales (SR/Tucson, AZ) who played in her final regular season match of her Lions career. Galina Tresslor (FR/La Habra, CA) rounded out the trio for the Pride.
For the men, Trevor Wales (JR/Scottsdale, AZ) was the top scorer posting a three over par 75. Titus Goodman (SO/Bakersfield, CA) clocked in second with a round of 77; Bryce Johnson (SO/Perris, CA) finished the round of 18 with 80 strokes. Nick Kristoff (FR/Altaville, CA) rounded out scoring for the day with an 82, while Tyler McDaniel (JR/Temecula, CA) scored a 84 in the exhibition slot.
