Dean Harvey Field

Vanguard University's Baseball team and spectators alike can enjoy the beautiful Southern California weather while watching the Blue and Gold.
After an $850,000 renovation, the field was named after Dean Harvey, an influential member of the 1985 SCC World Series team who passed away in 2011 after a battle with a rare brain disease Creutzfeldt-Jakob. In a special opening ceremony on November 11th 2017, family and friends gathered including his wife Kathy, son, and daughter. The renovated field features new dugouts, state of the art tension netting system for the backstop, an improved spectator experience including branding throughout the facility, a new field surface, a professional-grade grass infield and outfield, as well as a new irrigation system. The project was spearheaded by Jeff Motske, Steve Castle, Mark Deushane, Tim Fortugno, Donovan McReynolds, Ron Nelson, Cindy Overeem, and Mike Peterson.
The field measures 315 to right field, 316 down the left field line and 380 in center with a maximum distance of 385 in left-center field.
